24 Sep CUNA wins technology excellence awards
MADISON – CUNA Mutual Group has again been named to the CIO 100 and InformationWeek 500, two prestigious technology award rankings that recognize companies for their information technology prowess.
The 22nd annual CIO 100 award program, sponsored by IDG’s CIO Magazine, recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology. They are looking for companies that are using IT in innovative ways to deliver competitive advantage to the enterprise and enable growth. The honored project was CUNA Mutual’s Retirement Recordkeeping Web system and its fully integrated back-office processing. CUNA Mutual was able to improve the time to market for product and operational enhancements by more than 50 percent. They have received the CIO 100 honor four of the past five years.
“This year’s CIO 100 awards draw well-deserved attention to companies that are both innovating and creating business value with IT despite the economic downturn,” said Maryfran Johnson, editor in chief of CIO Magazine & Events. “These winners are an inspiration to businesses everywhere.”
The InformationWeek 500 is an annual listing of the nation’s most innovative users of business technology. CUNA Mutual has been listed at No. 134 in this year’s InformationWeek 500, marking the seventh year it has been named to this exclusive list and the third time it has been ranked in the top 150. In addition, CUNA Mutual’s voice signature technology was recognized as one of InformationWeek’s 2009 technology great ideas.
“For more than 20 years, the InformationWeek 500 has honored the most innovative users of business technology,” said InformationWeek Editor in Chief Rob Preston. “Year after year, InformationWeek 500 companies harness technology to improve efficiency, boost productivity, drive revenue and establish a competitive advantage. We applaud this year’s winners and the CIOs and other executives whose ingenuity and risk taking are at the center of business technology innovation.”
“We are very honored to receive these prestigious technology awards from CIO and InformationWeek,” said Rick Roy, CUNA Mutual senior vice president and CIO. “These awards are examples of our continued commitment to technology excellence in our products and services to better serve our credit unions and their members.”
