02 Jun Agribusiness center advances in central Wisconsin
The Owen-Withee area of central Wisconsin is leading the way in the development of an agribusiness technology park along Highway 29 in northern Clark County. The land is part of what used to be the Clark County Farm and hosted what was Wisconsin Farm Progress Days in 1983. Owen Mayor Tim Swiggum sees the location as a perfect place to develop an agricultural campus for businesses and education. The first move is to build an incubator building which would give local businesses the opportunity to start small and then, hopefully, grow to building their own building at the site. Swiggum says they hope to have the incubator building up-and-running by late 2010 or early 2011.
