Proving IT business value to the CEO

You know the famous saying: It’s the economy, stupid? It’s time that lead technology professionals realize that for them; it’s the bottom line, stupid. Information Week’s Bob Evans spells it all out in a recent column, “Global CIO: Prove IT’s Business Value To Your CEO — Or Else.” In this open letter of sorts to all CIOs, Evans offers a good reminder of what, exactly, CEOs seek in a chief technologist and a call for all to, in Evans’ words, “bear in mind above all else that a CIO is a business technology strategy that creates business and customer value.”
