MILWAUKEE – In a joint venture that provides customers with vendor of choice and quality of care solutions TeraMedica Healthcare Technology, an enterprise imaging and information management company, announced today that they are partnering with Compressus Inc., a provider of interoperability and workflow solutions.
The partnership was based on the fact that TeraMedica manages all the large images like CT, MR, Cardiology and more then Compressus identifies what when and where to send these between multiple information systems and entities assisting in patient care.
“This partnership delivers a unique enterprise approach to providing a comprehensive clinical workflow, data management and unified view to the resident electronic medical records (EMR) System. As with all facets of TeraMedica, this partnership has been created due to customer and market demand” said CEO Jim Prekop.
“The goal is to create an environment for healthcare practitioners to work more efficiently and cost effectively. Compressus MEDxConnect offers a software solution that overcomes the hurdles associated with medical imaging interoperability. It connects existing imaging systems and databases making them accessible via a single worklist. MEDxConnect acts as a communication hub, allowing information exchange to occur enterprise-wide, and provides the physician with access to all pertinent patient information in a seamlessly and consistent format. The solution is customizable and manages auto-routing for subspecialty reads which improves workflow. Higher throughput is accomplished, with a better accuracy and reduced staffing while improving quality of patient care,” states Janine Broda, CMO Compressus.
Leveraging the synergies of TeraMedica’s Evercore -Clinical Enterprise Suite solution and the Compressus MEDxConnect product suite allows physicians and patients alike, to instantly access medical images such as X-rays, MRI scans or Cardiology exams, as well as other types of clinical digital content such as electronic reports, from a single work list.
The evolution of picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) is creating the need for highly customizable radiology information systems. (RIS) . “The RIS – PACS siloed application centric challenge has remained until now,” said Paul Markham, VP marketing forTeramedica. “What Compressus does for RIS and what Teramedica is for pacs has been combined for a unique solution. Meaning we both see the patient as important not the department. At it simplest form cross enterprise RIS meets cross enterprise imaging systems, but we both do more than Radiology” said Markham.” “This unique partnership truly is a sign of the race towards one patient record and the This cohesive IIS platform gives the ability to complete the patient record for US Citizens in line with the Obama Administration edicts.”
“The reality is that organizations must deal with multi-facility, multi vendor challenges to improve quality care and reduce costs. Having solutions like MedxConnect combined with the flexibility of Smartstore provides efficiencies not offered by traditional siloed solutions. Directors of Radiology and Managers of Imaging Centers are looking for new ways to improve their offerings – I am confident they will see the value of our combined solution,” said Prekop.
The partnership with innovative technology companies like Teramedica and Compressus comes from listening to their customers who want to take advantage of new and improved clinical workflow. “CIO’s are coming to understand that when they own their own data, managed by solutions like Evercore, they can take advantage of new ways to leverage patient centric processes,” said Prekop.
