New SBA head officially confirmed

Whether you love it or hate it, the Small Business Administration has a new leader. The U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed President Obama’s nominee, Karen Gordon Mills, as the organization’s administrator late last week.
Small Business Committee Chair Mary Landrieu took this to mean, “[S]he is the right person to lead the agency at this crucial time,” according to a statement. And since politicians can agree on so very few issues, the unanimous voting results are hard to argue with.
Landrieu then continued, “Ms. Mills’ background as an entrepreneur and community leader coupled with her vast experience and education put her in the right position to assume the reigns of the SBA. I am confident that, under her leadership, the agency will be better equipped to assist small businesses throughout the country.”
