24 Mar RFID to track patient files at Cleveland Clinic
The Cleveland Clinic, a not-for-profit, multispecialty academic medical center, will use radio frequency identification to track patient files.
Using RFID technology from Kensington, MD.-based Infolinx, the clinic will implement a new records management program.
Infolinx Web will allow Cleveland Clinic’s more than 1,800 physicians and scientists to quickly and accurately search, view and request patient records. Using RFID, they’ll be able to perform up to searches per second. They’ll also be able to check patient files in and out of the central repository or transfer them to a new location without the need for manual data entry.
