Wisconsin firms hire lobbyists to navigate stimulus requests

Wisconsin companies are employing a small army of lobbyists to help them snag a piece of the massive economic stimulus package.
Ministry Health Care, which operates clinics and hospitals throughout Wisconsin, hired a team of Washington lobbyists specializing in health care policy late last year as federal lawmakers began talking about a stimulus plan to boost the country’s ailing economy.
Madison biotech company Aova Technologies signed on with a lobbyist who is a former member of Congress just days before the November election, in part to help the firm figure out where it could fit into the stimulus measure.
