Many changes for Wisconsin's largest biotech organization

The Wisconsin Biotechnology & Medical Device Association will now be BioForward. A move that according to Laura Strong, Ph.D., president of BioForward’s board of directors, more accurately reflects the group’s efforts to create investment and partnering opportunities, attract and retain the best talent, and provide networking, educational and other programs that help their member companies flourish.
Other changes include a new logo, tagline: “Where innovation and opportunity connect for Wisconsin.” and website. The new website will provide enhanced functionality and new resources for its members, including a career center, searchable member database and legislator feedback tools. BioForward is also set to announce new educational and other programs aimed at fostering the growth of the state’s biotechnology industry, and raising its national and international profile.
“Our name change to BioForward is built on our organization’s past successes and our plans to provide a greater breadth and depth of valuable services to Wisconsin’s biotech community,” said Laura Strong, Ph.D., president of BioForward’s board of directors. We look forward to announcing new, enhanced member programs and services that will further those goals.”
The name was approved by the members at their monthly breakfast meeting on February 11th. The new logo will appear in the coming days and the website is expected to be implemented in early March.
