MADISON, Wis.–Gentel Biosciences announces the promotion of G. Randall Durnell, Ph.D., to Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer and the hiring of Dan Clutter, Ph.D., as Vice President of Commercial Development. Dr. Durnell has been with Gentel for over a year where he served as the VP of Commercial Operations. In his new role, Dr. Durnell will be responsible for all aspects of Gentel’s commercial business, including Manufacturing and Corporate Development. Dr. Clutter will report to Dr. Durnell and has responsibility for Sales, Marketing and Product Commercialization. Prior to joining Gentel, Dr. Clutter has been in Sales, Marketing and/or Business Development for PerkinElmer, Invitrogen, Roche, Celera, PanVera, Asterand and NimbleGen.
Dr. Clutter said, “Gentel is well positioned to be a leader in high throughput biomarker discovery and screening. Our expertise in quantitative multiplexed protein assays – coupled with some amazing new profiling applications – gives us the ability to screen for biomarkers that no one could screen for previously.” He added, “I started out my career as a protein biochemist and moved into the genomics arena in time to be a part of new ‘science changing’ technologies such as PCR, shotgun sequencing of the human and mouse genomes, and high resolution tiling microarrays. It’s time for proteomics to have a similar leap in technology.”
“Dan brings Gentel a wealth of scientific knowledge and expertise in product commercialization that directly relates to the pending launch of several new biomarker products and a low cost multiplex scanner. We are very pleased to have Dan as a member of our executive team at Gentel,” commented Dr. Durnell.
