A recent WTN article titled “TomoTherapy competitor Varian slashes 320 jobs” misidentified the company that made the workforce reductions.
The company that cut jobs is not Varian Medical Systems, a competitor of TomoTherapy that makes radiation oncology equipment, but Varian Inc., a maker of scientific instruments.
Varian Medical Systems, which is traded on the New York Stock exchange (ticker VAR), is coming off one of its strongest financial years.
