31 Dec Entry period ends soon in NE Wisconsin Business Plan Competition
The time for budding entrepreneurs to submit their business plan in the 2009 Northeast Wisconsin Business Plan Competition is quickly coming to a close.
Entries must be received no later than noon on January 12, 2009. A total of $25,000 in prizes will be awarded with a top prize of $10,000. Second place will receive $6,000; third will receive $4,000; fourth will receive $3,000; and fifth will receive $2,000. The prize money must be used to put the business plan into action within one year of its receipt.

The Economic Development Corporation of Manitowoc County is offering free entrepreneurial and business plan counseling services to anyone with a viable business idea who is interested in the competition. The goal of the Northeast Wisconsin Business Plan Competition is to encourage the preparation of business plans for start-up businesses, making significant changes to existing businesses or launching new products in northeast Wisconsin. Business plans are a critical tool in the proper planning and launch of new ventures and are the preferred mode of communication between entrepreneurs, innovators and potential investors.
The contest is organized and sponsored by the Northeast Wisconsin Regional Economic Partnership. Other sponsors include The New North, Inc., Fox Valley Workforce Development Board, Alliant Energy, We Energy, Dominion, WPS, Florida Power and Light, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh College of Business, Lakeshore Technical College, Moraine Park Technical College, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and Fox Valley Technical College.
