08 Dec AT&T launches U-verse Voice in Madison
Madison, Wis. – AT&T has announced the availability of its AT&T U-verse product for digital voice service in parts of Madison.
The service, which is delivered over the AT&T U-verse Internet protocol (IP) network, is designed to join home phone, wireless, broadband, and television services on one bill.
AT&T is engaged in a next-generation battle for telecom consumers with the likes of TDS Telecom, which has introduced a hosted IP phone service.
According to AT&T, the new digital voice service provides a new level of integration in a single, voice mailbox for AT&T U-verse Voice and AT&T wireless messages. Features also include an online portal to manage call preferences and settings from any personal computer, an online address book, click-to-call and call history on PCs and television screens, and several other integrated features.
In rolling out the service in Madison, the company also said that all U-verse Voice customers will have 911 service, and customers can choose from two calling plans – an unlimited AT&T U-verse Voice plan for $30 a month, and a U-verse Voice 1000 plan for $25 a month.
