UW's Hoslet talks entrepreneurship at Oct. 28 Madison WIN luncheon

Madison, Wis. – Charles Hoslet, managing director of the UW-Madison Office of Corporate Relations, will speak about university efforts to build an entrepreneurial culture, off campus as well as on, at the Tuesday, Oct. 28 meeting of the Wisconsin Innovation Network in Madison.
The luncheon will be held at the Sheraton Hotel on Madison’s John Nolen Drive. Registration and networking begin at 11:30 a.m., lunch at noon and the presentation at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $25 for WIN members, $35 for non-members and included with WIN corporate memberships. To register, visit www.wisconsintechnologycouncil.com.
Catalyzing entrepreneurship on the UW-Madison campus and extending that culture statewide can help build Wisconsin’s high-growth economy. Hoslet will discuss a mix of resources and workshops on- and off-campus that are available to help entrepreneurs, inventors and investors make the connections they need to form and grow successful new business enterprises.
“The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation singled out UW-Madison for a major grant to promote entrepreneurism, and the results can already be seen,” said Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council and WIN. “In addition, the success of campus entrepreneurial programs, such as the Weinert Center for Entrepreneurship, the Burrill Business Plan Contest and the Master’s in Biotechnology program, are good barometers of progress.”
The Office of Corporate Relations serves as the front door to university resources for business and industry. It provides services to companies by recruiting UW-Madison graduates and interns; accessing faculty and staff expertise; licensing technology; and fostering entrepreneurship.
The event is sponsored by Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. WIN is the membership affiliate of the Tech Council, with chapters in Madison, Milwaukee, northeast Wisconsin, central Wisconsin, western Wisconsin and the Lake Superior region.
