Judy Owen, Calumet Venture Fund investor, to speak at WIN-NE

Appleton, Wis. – Investor Judy Owen of Calumet Venture Fund 1 will discuss early-stage venture capital investment activities in the Midwest during the Oct. 16 meeting of the Wisconsin Innovation Network’s Northeast Chapter.
The meeting will be held at the D.J. Bordini Center, 5 Systems Drive, across from the Fox Valley Technical College campus in Appleton.
Calumet Venture Fund I plans to make early-stage investments in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and California. According to the fund’s managers, they will invest in electronic product companies that have “substantial potential” for long-term capital appreciation, including those in software development, health and medical products and services, and “green energy” technology.
The principals, Owen and Tim Williams, have more than 60 years of combined experience in working with venture-backed companies.
Registration and networking begin at 4:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for WIN members and $10 for non-members.
WIN is the membership subsidiary of the Wisconsin Technology Council, a science and technology policy adviser to the Governor and the Wisconsin Legislature.
