Continued growth has Thin Air Software on the move

Milwaukee, Wis.Thin Air Software, a software development services firm, has moved to custom-tailored offices at the Summit Place office park in Milwaukee to accommodate business growth.
“We’ve grown significantly over the past few years and see more growth in the coming years,” said Geoff Bastow, Thin Air founder and CEO. “The demand for our services is being driven by broad-based strategic investments by companies in software-driven products and services in all industry segments. We serve this segment well, bringing business and technology strategy experience, proven development processes, and the ability to attract the talent needed to execute in partnership with our clients.”
The company is leasing 5,200 square feet of space in the highly successful Summit Place office complex created on a portion of the former Allis-Chalmers factory grounds. A one-time relic, the 650,000-square-foot facility was revitalized five years ago and houses a vibrant, diverse business community. The facility is a perfect backdrop for the new development center, Bastow said.
“We’ve been able to create space tailored to our highly successful collaborative software development process,” he said. “It is a casual, open space environment where ideas can be shared and distractions minimized,” he added. “As much as clients have come to rely on Thin Air for our staff’s expertise, they also see great value in the way we do things. Our process has been refined over many years and provides a speed-to-market advantage combined with high-quality delivery and innovation, while reducing the inherent risks of software development.”
Thin Air Software most often employs agile software development methodologies. Agile methods emphasize working in small teams that can communicate face-to-face, close collaboration between the software developers and customers, and frequent delivery of working versions of software. “For clients that means reduced technology risk, met deadlines, flexibility in feature sets and lower costs,” Bastow said.
Thin Air had been operating out of the Technology Innovation Center in the Milwaukee County Research Park.
