GE Healthcare names new CEO as Hogan departs for Swiss firm

Milwaukee, Wis. — General Electric has named John Dineen the new president and CEO of its GE Healthcare business, which employs more than 6,000 people in the Milwaukee area.
The move comes after current chief executive Joseph Hogan agreed to become CEO of Zurich-based ABB Ltd., an electrical engineering firm, on September 1. Hogan led first GE Medical Systems and then GE Healthcare, starting in 2000. ABB also has a presence in Wisconsin: ABB Industrial Systems in New Berlin, which manufactures motors and drives.
Dineen comes from GE’s smaller transportation business, and will work from GE Healthcare headquarters in London. In 22 years with GE, he has also worked in the advanced materials and power equipment business.
