25 Jun Wisconsin medical imaging company completes acquisition
Pewaukee, Wis. – MeVis Medical Solutions, a Pewaukee-based developer of medial imaging products, has completed its acquisition of a California-based computed tomography company, according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
In announcing the acquisition, MeVis also said it would begin to ship its first imaging product, according to the report.
MeVis acquired the computed technology arm of R2 Technology, and in the process acquired a CT scanner that helps radiologists examine lung nodules and defects in pulmonary arteries, the report said.
MeVis is a subsidiary of the German corporation MeVis Medical Solutions, which develops medical imaging software and opened a subsidiary here to expand its presence and its industry contacts in the U.S.
R2 Technology, based in Santa Clara, Calif., is a subsidiary of the Massachusetts firm Hologic, Inc. Hologic will acquire Madison’s Third Wave Technologies in a deal that is expected to close later this year.
