Software engineering firm names Tim Budden as new chief executive

Platteville, Wis.Esterline AVISTA (AVISTA Inc.) of Platteville has announced the retirement of longtime chief executive Jim Schneller, and the appointment of software engineer Tim Budden as his replacement.
Budden, most recently vice president of engineering for Esterline, is an industry expert on software for commercial and military avionics, medical device, and other military applications. He joined the company in 1990 from McDonnell Douglas, which now is Boeing.
Esterline AVISTA, a subsidiary of Esterline Technologies Corp., provides software development and systems engineering for major manufacturers.
Schneller is retiring after 20 years with the company.
