DHFS issues RFP on health information exchange

Madison, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services has issued another request for proposal asking for business and technical planning and design services for the state-level health information exchange.
The RFP, which has been posted on VendorNet, asks for bids to be submitted by July 21, 2008.
The department has canceled a previous RFP due to vendor concerns about clarity regarding the scope of work and services involved in the project.
DHFS will coordinate implementation of the state’s five-year eHealth action plan that has been developed by the Governor’s eHealth Care Quality and Patient Safety Board. The plan will guide statewide adoption of electronic health records and health information exchange.
The RFP was submitted for the purpose of developing state-level health information exchange business and technical services, including the design of technology architecture for a state-level HIE entity.
