29 Mar api Software acquires patient classification system
Hartford, Wis. – api Software, Inc., a provider of labor resource management software to healthcare organizations, has acquired ENEPCS, an automated system that measures clinical workload.
ENEPCS stands for Expert Nurse Estimation Patient Classification System. Luis Garcia, api’s president and chief executive officer, said the acquisition would enhance api’s staffing and scheduling system, allowing managers to take staff credentials, skill sets, and patient acuity into account when making staffing decisions.
According to api, the ENEPCS system can provide the data required to meet state and federal legislative requirements, including California’s mandated patient-to-staff ratios. Several states are following California’s lead and are implementing similar legislation, creating an opportunity for api and competitors to help hospitals and health systems comply with this mandate.
