19 Jan Promega announces latest product enhancement
Madison, Wis. – Promega Corp., a maker of research tools for the life science industry, has announced the release of new assays that could produce insights into enzymes involved in apoptosis, or programmed cell death.
The company says its newest bioluminescent assays provide greatest sensitivity for these enzymes, which are known as caspase-2 and -6. The new assays, which are analytical procedures to test the properties or composition of organic substances, are 100 to 1,000 times more sensitive than existing assays.
According to Promega, the greater sensitivity will help laboratories to more precisely monitor and improve the understanding of these caspase activities and other functions that are important for interpreting the results of cell-based studies.
