Fiserv finishes sale of healthcare businesses to UnitedHealthcare

Milwaukee – UnitedHealthcare has finished acquiring Fiserv’s healthcare-related businesses, the two companies announced today. The sale includes Fiserv Health (benefits administration), Avidyn Health (care facilitation), and divisions of Fiserv Health such as pharmacy benefits and specialty solutions businesses.
The sale was announced in November 2007, at which time Fiserv expected to receive $775 in cash, with $475 in net transaction proceeds; the most recent announcement did not update those numbers. Also in November, Fiserv announced it planned to keep recent acquisitions WorkingRx (worker’s compensation claims processing for pharmacies) and CareGain (consumer-directed health plan solutions).
