09 Nov Doyle appoints Jack Fischer as Secretary of Commerce
Madison, Wis. – Citing his understanding of business development, Gov. Jim Doyle has appointed retail developer Jack L. Fischer as Secretary of the Department of Commerce. The appointment becomes effective Nov. 26.
Fischer, who succeeds Mary Burke, is president and CEO of the Fischer Group Companies, including J.L. Fischer, Inc., and related partnerships. The Fischer Group focuses on the development of retail mall, offices, and residential housing development alternatives.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Fischer also is past president of JP-Marathon, Inc. and Interglobia, Inc., a development company.
