07 Sep Platypus secures $2.3 million contract with Maryland biological center
Madison, Wis. – Platypus Technologies, a life sciences nanotechnology company based in the Fitchburg Technology Campus, has been awarded a $2.3 million contract with the Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center in Maryland.
The funds will be used to advance the development of liquid crystal-based sensors in military and civilian applications.
Since its founding, Platypus Technologies has received more than $15.5 million in federal funding to develop nanotechnology products for the physical and life sciences.
Last month, the company formally launched its Oris cell migration assay, the first of several nano-based products it plans to commercialize.
