Stratatech Corp. lands another federal research grant

Madison, Wis. – The National Institute on Aging will provide Madison’s Stratatech Corp. with a $1.45 million Small Business Innovation Research grant.
The grant will be used to develop Stratatech’s skin-tissue product that speeds the healing of chronic skin ulcers. Chronic ulcers often are complicated by poor vascularization, which contributes to poor wound healing, especially in the elderly. Stratatech is attempting to promote healing by developing human skin substitutes to stimulate the growth of blood vessels in chronic wounds.
Stratatech, founded in 2000, employs about 25 people in its facility at University Research Park.
