25 Jul Ronald Kraemer named CIO at UW-Madison
Madison, Wis. – Ronald Kraemer has been appointed to chief information officer (CIO) and vice provost for information technology for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the university announced.
Kraemer, one of three finalists for the position, is the current deputy CIO and associate director for UW-Madison’s Division of Information Technology (DoIT), a position he has held since November of 2005. He will take over as CIO on Aug. 15.
The CIO oversees DoIT’s technology services, and the university indicated that Kraemer will play a larger role in developing its campus wide information technology strategy.
Kraemer will succeed Interim CIO Ken Frazier, who will direct the University Library System.
Frazier has served as interim CIO since July 2006, following the retirement of CIO Annie Stunden.
