29 Jun Merge launches diagnostic mammography workstation in Europe
Milwaukee, Wis. – In an effort to capture market share during the global push toward digital mammography, Merge Healthcare has launched the latest version of its digital mammography workstation in the European market.
Merge, a medical imaging software and services provider, said the workstation, known commercially as Merge Mammo version 7.0.1, is designed to streamline breast imaging workflow and enhance clinical reading capabilities.
According to Merge, the system enables healthcare organizations to display and simultaneously read images from different systems – digital mammography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance, and computed radiology.
It also allows providers to read all breast studies on a single workstation, regardless of which vendor’s device is used to secure the images, and it enables radiologists in different locations to simultaneously view any case.
Jacques Cornet, president of Merge Healthcare EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), said many global healthcare organizations are adopting digital mammography as increasing numbers of clinical trials point toward its potential benefits.
The new version of Merge Mammo is the latest in a series of new or enhanced product launches announced by the company. Merge has been trying to regain traction in its worldwide markets after an accounting scandal led to the resignation of top executives and almost resulted in its delisting from the NASDAQ Stock Market.
