Chippewa Valley, Wis. – Small Tree Communications, a provider of enterprise networking components, has been awarded $2.85 million defense contract for continued development of communications technology.
This funding, part of the FY 2007 defense appropriations bill, was awarded through a competitive award process. It will enable the company to further develop battlefield communications capabilities for the United States Army.
The request for funding was submitted by Congressman Dave Obey, D-Wisconsin. Obey, chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, noted the operational importance of improving battlefield communications.
“Moving larger amounts of complex data more quickly than we did yesterday is a constant challenge for today’s military,” he said.
Corky Seeber, president of Small Tree Communications, said the company’s objective is to develop a faster, more secure, and cost effective communications network.
