Rockwell Automation to acquire British process-control firm

Milwaukee, Wis.Rockwell Automation has reached an agreement to acquire Industrial Control Services Group Ltd., a British industrial controls company, for $218 million.
Headquartered in Maldon, England, ICS trades and does business as ICS Triplex, a global supplier of critical control and safety solutions to process industries.
Keith Nosbusch, chairman and chief executive officer of Rockwell, said ICS Triplex provides an important strategic fit for Rockwell’s process control and safety solutions businesses.
ICS Triplex develops and maintains products for high availability, fault-tolerant applications for companies in oil and gas exploration, production, transportation, refining, chemicals, and power generation.
The company, which employs more than 500 people in operations across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America, will be included in Rockwell’s control products and solutions operating segment.
Rockwell expects the transaction to be completed during the third quarter of 2007. It is subject to regulatory approval from the German Federal Cartel Office.
