21 Apr Merge unveils next-generation imaging-informatics product
West Allis, Wis. – Merge Healthcare has released yet another enhanced product, one that blends a radiology information system and a picture archiving and communication system into one business and clinical application.
Merge, a medical imaging software and services company, will market the product, which is called Fusion RIS/PACS, to imaging centers, hospitals, multi-facility physician practices, and specialty clinics.
The product is designed to deliver a single workflow application for an entire range of clinical and business needs, with specific tools for different functions. The system provides a single source of access to all patient information, it includes embedded tools like document management to reduce report turnaround times, and it offers customizable worklist management capabilities to help with scheduling and billing across an entire organization.
Merge has introduced several upgraded projects in 2007 as it attempts to hold on to customers and gain traction following an accounting scandal that led to the resignation of several top executives, and nearly resulted in its delisting from the NASDAQ Stock Market.
