Sonic Foundry upgrades Mediasite for podcasts

Madison, Wis. – In a value-added move aimed at media-savvy students, the mobile workforce, and participants of the social computing craze, Sonic Foundry has introduced new podcasting and automated scheduling capabilities for its Mediasite web communications product.
The latest release of Mediasite includes what Sonic Foundry, a Madison-based rich media company, calls Mediasite Podcast. The new product automatically transforms any Mediasite presentation into portable audio content for on-the-go playback with Apple iPods, iTunes, or any MP3 player.
Another part of Mediasite’s new brand promise is that it will provide for automated scheduling of presentation recordings by customers who create large libraries of recurring presentations, giving them “new tools to get their knowledge to people where and when they need it,” said Rimas Buinevicius, chairman and CEO of Sonic Foundry.
The podcast enhancement is the second major feature added to Mediasite in recent months. Recently, the company introduced advance search techniques to the product.
