26 Feb Sale of Norlight Telecommunications is finalized
Milwaukee, Wis. – Journal Communications has completed its $185 million sale of Norlight Telecommunications to Q-Comm Corp. of Evansville, Ind.
The sale, subject to federal and state regulatory approvals, is expected to take four to six months to complete.
Journal Communications said it will use the proceeds – expected to be $125 million to $130 million after taxes and transaction expenses – to reduce debt.
Norlight, a Brookfield-based facilities-based communications company known for its “Guardians of Data” brand, provides Internet, telephone, data management and other services in seven Midwestern states, including Wisconsin.
With the purchase, Q-Comm will be able to expand its network. Q-Comm owns Cinergy Communications Co., and operates other communications businesses in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
