University, business leaders convene in Wausau

Wausau, Wis. – The Wisconsin Innovation Network’s Centergy Chapter will meet Dec. 6 to focus on a partially untapped economic development resource – state colleges and universities.
During the meeting, to be held at the Wausau Business Development Center, business executives and owners throughout north central Wisconsin will have an opportunity to learn how they can more fully apply university resources to the benefit of their organizations.
“There are hunderds of examples across Wisconsin where UW resources are helping to build our state’s ‘Knowledge Economy,'” said Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council, the parent of WIN. The meeting will inform attendees about partnering with the university or utilizing continuing education opportunities.
Charlie Hoslet, director of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Office of Corporate Relations, and Paul Pucci, manger of the WiSys Technology Foundation, will describe how their respective organizations serve as a resource for businesses throughout the state.
Networking begins at 5 p.m. and the program starts at 5:30 p.m. Registration can be completed online or at the door.
