29 Jun Sonic Foundry offers Mediasite to military families
Madison, Wis. – Sonic Foundry, a provider of media communications technology, will be using its multimedia systems on June 30 to help friends and family get in touch with their loved ones serving in the military.
Sonic Foundry will partner with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs to offer Mediasite services for recording greetings to soldiers in overseas locations.
The messages can be recorded with both audio and visual components, and users will be able to send graphical material such as photographs, children’s drawings, and paintings. Through Mediasite, the messages will automatically be recorded and webcast, and an invitation will be sent via e-mail link to the soldier.
The recording is open to the public, and interested parties can visit the Wisconsin Veterans Museum on Friday, June 30, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Museum is located in Madison on the Capitol Square at 30 W. Mifflin St.
“This Fourth of July, Sonic Foundry is truly honored to be able to visually capture and connect loved ones with our soldiers stationed overseas through Mediasite,” Rimas Buinevicius, chairman and chief executive officer of Sonic Foundry, said in a statement.
“We hope to link families with their loved ones, even though they are worlds apart, in an effort to recognize the on-going dedication and sacrifice of all service members and their families,” said John Scocos, secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.
