27 Jun Daugherty becomes CTO of Great Lakes BioFuels
Madison, Wis. – Mark Daugherty, a long-time proponent of alternative energy, has joined the biodiesel producer Great Lakes BioFuels, LLC, as chief technology officer.
“We are very pleased to have a partner with Mark’s research track record and technology start-up expertise,” said H. Tony Hartmann, company CEO. “He is a perfect fit for Great Lakes BioFuels’ strategic team as we pursue opportunities in green fuel technology.”
Daugherty spent the past several years as a consultant to the partnership of organizations like Wisconsin Focus on Energy, the energy consulting firm MSB Energy Associates in Middleton, and Enable Intellectual Property Commercialization, a battery nanotechnology firm in Valencia, Calif.
He serves on the board of directors for the Madison-based car-sharing service Community Car, and he is a partner in Co-Housing, a sustainable living project on Madison’s west side.
Daugherty also worked in the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Applied Superconductivity Center before taking a position at Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1993-1997.
