22 Jun Napier joins board of Third Wave Technologies
Madison, Wis.Third Wave Technologies Inc., a Madison company that develops and markets molecular diagnostic reagents for DNA and RNA analysis applications, has named Kay Napier to its board of directors.
Napier’s background in general management and marketing will bring marketing insight to Third Wave, according to president and CEO Kevin T. Conroy. She was instrumental in reaching heathcare and women’s markets in the promotion of products at Procter & Gamble and McDonald’s Corp.
Napier rose from assistant brand manager to vice president and general manager of Procter & Gamble’s then $800 million North American pharmaceutical business, where she launched the osteoporosis drug Actonel. The brand grew to $1 billion in revenue more quickly than any brand in Procter & Gamble’s history.
As senior vice president of marketing at McDonalds in 2002, she led the development and execution of the company’s strategy to reinvigorate its business with women and families with launches of McDonald’s Premium Salads and other balanced lifestyle offerings.
With Third Wave, she’ll be involved with decision making for an established product. “Third Wave has a unique ability to capture value in the molecular diagnostics market through its Invader chemistry,” she said, “and I look forward to working with my colleagues on the board to maximize that value for shareholders.”
