15 Mar Madison company cosponsors young entrepreneur awards
Madison, Wis. — Ten $1,000 scholarships and a top prize of $7,500 in seed capital are on the line for young entrepreneurs in a business-plan competition sponsored by BizFilings, a company headquartered in Madison, and the Young Entrepreneur Foundation.
The contest, named Plan for the Future, is accepting entries from U.S. college and high-school students until May 31. They’ll be judged by an independent panel.

Contests like these are seen as a way to get students – or any interested entrepreneur, in the case of the Wisconsin Governor’s Business-Plan Contest – involved in a competitive atmosphere where they also have the support of constructive criticism or mentorship. Another contest for Wisconsin students to keep an eye out for is the Burrill business-plan competition, held at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Awards for that are due April 21.
