Madison, Wis. — Tech publication SearchCIO picked up Alliant Energy CEO Bill Harvey’s comments at Fusion2006 CEO-CIO Symposium last week. Harvey took a contrarian view, considering the audience, talking about Alliant’s position as a late adopter and its “dogmatic” insistance that IT projects align with business goals.
It’s a balance each company must strike for itself. Harvey said Alliant’s job was essentially to boil water in a lot of different ways, so the latest bleeding-edge IT is not appropriate or necessary.
