01 Mar Mediasite integrates with Blackboard
Madison, Wis. — Sonic Foundry, Inc., said it has made its Mediasite software into a component for the Blackboard Learning System, a course management system used by higher education, K-12, corporate and government institutions.
With the Mediasite “building block,” a Blackboard user can watch video of a lecture or meeting in their web browser. Mediasite synchronizes video with presentations on PowerPoint, electronic whiteboards or other devices.
Education is a big market for Sonic Foundry, which said it had 433 customers at the end of 2005. The company has been pursuing fast growth and projected it would reach financial break-even sometime this year.
