Platypus adds Mirus VP to board of directors

Madison, Wis. — Platypus Technologies has appointed Rich Schifreen, vice president of research products at Mirus-Bio Corporation, to its board of directors.
The firms operate in different fields of biotechnology. Platypus develops slides and other surfaces using nanotechnology and is moving toward commercializing a new liquid crystal technology. Mirus focuses on nucleic acids and makes reagents.
Schifreen joined Mirus in 2005. Before that, he was director of technology and business development at Promega Corporation.
Platypus Technologies is located in the New Venture Center Campus in Fitchburg and has 20 employees.
