15 Feb Greenbrier & Russel acquired by Fujitsu
Greenbrier & Russel, a business and IT consultancy with a significant Wisconsin presence, has been acquired by Fujitsu Consulting for undisclosed terms.
Howard Blietz and Eric Wasowicz, Greenbrier & Russel’s co-founders, will remain with Fujitsu Consulting in senior executive roles. A Fujitsu company statement said that most of the firm’s 425 employees would remain with the company in their current roles for now to maintain continuity with clients, but unspecified integration activities will take place.
“Since 1984, Greenbrier & Russel has been a strong player, especially in the upper Midwest and here in Wisconsin,” said managing director Marc Blazich in an e-mail. “150 of Greenbrier & Russel’s 425 employees are based here in Wisconsin.”
Fujitsu said it made the acquisition in part to extend its capabilities in Oracle and PeopleSoft enterprise resource planning suites, business intelligence, Microsoft and Java technologies, and training. It also wanted to increase its presence in markets such as Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Minneapolis, Wisconsin and Phoenix.
