15 Feb GE Healthcare opens facility meant for 2,000 employees
Milwaukee — GE Healthcare will be moving more than a quarter of its employees in Waukesha County to its new $85 million facility in the Milwaukee County Research Park after a grand opening on Wednesday, the company said.
In all, 2,000 people will work at the new facility. In addition to its Waukesha location, employees will also move from offices in Menomonee Falls and Brookfield.
The new location will be a global headquarters for two business divisions: clinical systems and interventional, cardiology and surgery. GE Healthcare’s headquarters have been located in the U.K. since GE bought Amersham PLC in 2004, but major operational centers are here, in the Milwaukee area. The new facility will also contain the firm’s IT department.
