23 Jan Official touts biotech industry in Sheboygan visit
Wisconsin’s secretary of revenue, Michael Morgan, said during a visit to Sheboygan that the region could be a player in Wisconsin’s biotech industry, which so far has centered on Madison and Milwaukee.
A professor at Lakeland College also told local media that many students would like to work in local biotechnology companies, if the jobs were available. So-called brain drain, the stream of talented graduates leaving to find jobs elsewhere, is a concern across Wisconsin.
At the same time, local officials are worried about the region’s manufacturing industry, which they say provides a declining number of jobs.
