05 Jan GE completes $1.2 billion acquisition
Milwaukee — GE Healthcare has finished its acquisition of health-care IT company IDX Systems Corporation for $1.2 billion, adding to GE’s suite of clinical, imaging and business systems.
Joe Hogan, president and CEO of GE Healthcare, said the combination would lead to expanded product offerings in areas such as electronic health records.
The business will be led by Vishal Wanchoo, president and CEO of GE Healthcare’s Information Technologies division. IDX Systems’ home town of Burlington, Vermont, will remain a major office, while the IT division headquarters will be in Barrington, Illinois.
