07 Oct School districts contract with Lawson for new data processing software
Madison, Wis. – Four Madison-area K-12 school districts have signed a contract with St. Paul-based Lawson Software for a suite of applications that will allow the districts to replace legacy data processing systems. The four districts– Madison Metropolitan School District, Verona Area School District, Oregon School District and Middleton-Cross Plains School District, known as the Wisconsin School Consortium—will share the costs.
The Lawson suite includes HR and Financials software, which will enable the districts to create personnel budgets, monitor personnel headcount and use the information to budget against hiring, raises and absences on a daily basis. It also includes new procurement applications, to automate and streamline their purchasing procedures for faster turnarounds, and reporting software to create customized budgeting reports, as required by the State of Wisconsin.
The package also includes hosting services and support from managed applications provider netASPx. NetASPx will allow all four districts to operate on the same system and have a single support site for technical assistance.
