MINNEAPOLIS – The contact center business of Telstar Communications, Inc. of Appleton, Wis., has been acquired by Avtex, Inc. of Minneapolis, in a deal that closed Aug. 25, the two companies reported on Wednesday.
Avtex is an application and systems integration company, that designs, develops, deploys and supports messaging, contact center and IP telephony systems.
Telstar Communications was launched in 1984 as Waupaca Telephone and evolved into Telstar. It is an Interactive Intelligence Platinum Elite Partner with its main focus in the design, implementation, and ongoing support of VoIP telephony systems, contact centers and messaging solutions.
“This merger will allow both our customers and our employees to reach new levels of achievement,” said Scott Panzenhagen, president of Telstar. Panzenhagen will pursue other business opportunities.
The combined companies will serve more than 600 customers including Alta Resources, Digital River, Creative Memories, Time Warner, BNSF, Kimberly Clark, HSA Bank and American Family Insurance.
