Promega breaks ground for new office building

Fitchburg, Wis. – The life sciences provider Promega broke ground on Wednesday for a new three-building office and retail complex in the Fitchburg Center, located next to the existing Promega offices.
The $22 million project will take up 84,000 square feet located near Cheryl Parkway and Fish Hatchery Road, 62,000 of which will be occupied by Promega and 22,000 of which will be retail space. The expansion will provide Promega with further manufacturing and research space and will provide for the estimate 100 employees the company intends to add in the next five years.
The project will also include a 244-space underground parking garage, partially paid for by tax incremental financing, known as Town Center Phase I.
Promega, founded in 1978, is a worldwide supplier of reagents and enzymes with patents in nucleic acid purification, human identification, bioluminescence, coupled in vitro transcription and translation and cell biology. They serve over 90 countries and have annual sales of more than $170 million.
