Tommy Thompson elected to board of Jersey medical firm

Madison, Wis. – Former Wisconsin Gov. and Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy Thompson will join the board of directors at C.R. Bard, the company announced Tuesday. Thompson was elected to the post at the company’s August board meeting.
Bard, a healthcare technology firm headquartered in New Jersey, manufactures and sells specialty devices for vascular, urology, oncology and surgical specialty products. Thompson will join a board of directors that includes Tony White, president of Appelara Corp. and Gail Naughton, dean of the College of Business Administration at San Diego State University
Thompson, a four-time Wisconsin governor, is also a member of the board of directors at the RFID manufacturer VeriChip and president of Logistics Health Inc. He also serves as the honorary chairman of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and is independent chairman of the Deloitte Center for Health Care Management.
