27 Jul Meat-snack maker selects Prescient Applied Intelligence tech package
Minong, Wis. — Northwestern Wisconsin meat snack producer Link Snacks, Inc., has selected Prescient Applied Intelligence, Inc. solutions to increase operating efficiencies and expand marketing efforts, Prescient reported Wednesday.
Link Snacks sells a variety of beef jerky snacks under the Jack Link’s brand and reports to be the fastest-growing global meat snacks company.
Jack Link’s plans to use Prescient’s Demand Planning and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) solutions to increase demand visibility, improve forecast accuracy, reduce out of stocks, improve customer service levels, and allow for more efficient use of customer data.
In the future, Jack Link’s will integrate retail point-of-sale (POS) data from Wal-Mart’s RetailLink into the Prescient system, and use the POS information to drive retail forecasts.
“Furthering the integration of POS data is critical to our success moving forward,” said Lisa Jones, senior supply chain manager at Jack Link’s Beef Jerky. “POS data visibility is needed to understand our customers’ demand needs and improve business processes. We selected the Prescient system because it will allow us to act even faster on the information we receive from our key trading partners, regardless of the format in which the information is provided.”
Prescient Applied Intelligence, of West Chester, Pa., provides supply chain and advanced commerce solutions for retailers and suppliers.
