25 Jul Active Air Networks Wisconsin launches broadband and wireless networks in Wisconsin
Madison, Wis. — Active Air Networks Wisconsin said Monday it will begin delivering high speed broadband and wireless technologies to consumers and business users throughout Wisconsin communities.
The network will begin deployment this month in multiple villages and towns throughout Washington County. Its citywide wireless technologies include broadband point-to-point, point to multipoint and 802.11 a/b/g Wi-Fi standards. The service is mobile, yet high-speed at 1 to 3 mega bits per second.
Active Air Networks Wisconsin, which is privately funded, will work jointly with Broadband Network Services to engineer and build its wireless broadband solutions.
Active Air Networks Wisconsin is positioning itself to be a low cost alternative to DSL, “so that customers no longer have to be dependent on proximity to cable or DSL availability in their area,” it reported in its service announcement.
“Our plan is to work directly with business and community leaders in villages across Wisconsin in adopting the technology and launching networks to residents and local merchants,” said Rick Thomas, managing partner of Air Networks Wisconsin.
